The Arzignano production facility, Italy’s main tanning hub, was opened at the beginning of the ‘80’s.

We realized that only by starting from the raw material and proceeding step-by-step through the entire production process could we offer our customers a broader range of articles, enhanced consistency in the selection process, improved technical characteristics and absolutely on-time deliveries.

We unlock the doors to our production

How do you combine industrial production with a product that is never the same? We are able to do this thanks to our deep knowledge of the raw material we use, but most especially of the ways the hides react to the many modifications that can be made in each of the stages of the production process.

Where everything begins: the uncured hides

The variety of uncured hides on the market is more or less infinite.
Over the years, we have established strong bonds of trust with long-standing suppliers who we consider as partners to all effects.
We give priority to fresh cowhides of European origin, which are tanned in the Arzignano plant on the same day as they arrive, but not before they have been thoroughly analysed by professionals regularly registered with the Hides, Skins and Leather Register of the Chamber of Commerce of Vicenza.

Tanning: to make the leather rot-proof

Precious partnerships with manufacturers of tanning products have enabled us to offer customers alternatives to the more widely used chrome tanning processes, such as chrome-free tanning, olive leaf extract tanning and innovative methods able to obtain the basis for bio-circular leather.

Retannage: the first step towards customizing

Retannage and dyeing give the skin a precise direction. It is during this stage that the hides acquire the characteristics required by the customer and where we take over to obtain a product that is pliable or firm, more or less elastic, grainy or smooth, soft or compact.

Correct drying, to avoid stressing the skins

Our skins are frame or vacuum dried. In the first case, they are stretched and fastened to a frame that conveys them into a large, heated chamber where they dry delicately and retain a necessary percentage of moisture. Vacuum drying is faster and recommended if the skin must be more compact and less grainy. The high percentage of residual moisture is eliminated by hanging the skins on a turning chain conveyor located just below the roof of the plant, where the circulating air is warmer.

Finish: a play of colours and effects

Finishing is the final stage in the production process and is the phase where the aesthetic appearance of the leather is perfected. The hides are placed in a tunnel where the colours or desired effects are sprayed or spread onto them along with a fixative, which protects the finish and enhances the wear-proof characteristics of the product.
